E-liquids come in two different variations, nic salts and freebase nicotine.
Freebase nicotine has been around for a long, long time (well, the 1960s) and was first used by cigarette companies to give their products more of a potent hit. Nicotine replacement therapies like patches and gum use it too.
Freebase nicotine is created when nicotine is converted from its naturally occurring state into a ‘pure form’. Without resorting to science-speak, it’s a way of making nicotine stronger without having to take a bigger dose.
When should I choose freebase nicotine e-liquid for vaping?
One of the benefits of freebase nicotine e-liquid is its versatility. It can be used for mouth-to-lung vaping, and direct-to-lung vaping, while nic salts can only be used for the former.
Freebase nicotine e-liquids also offer a harsher throat hit. While this may sound like a bad thing, some people prefer it as it feels similar to smoking a cigarette.
And finally, freebase nicotine is absorbed into the bloodstream more slowly than nic salts, but the effects last for longer. This makes it a good option for social and light smokers.

That’s because the majority of them contain a higher concentration of VG, the substance that creates the vapour.

Our freebase nicotine range comes in a range of four different strengths: 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, and 18mg.
Typically freebase nicotine is better suited for people who need a lower-strength e-liquid, for example, those who smoke less than 20 cigarettes a day.
This is because the stronger the e-liquid, the harsher the throat hit. So while we offer 18mg strength freebase nicotine, we’d only recommend it for the most hardcore of smokers!
